You can increase the performance of sql server 2005 management studio.

Follow the steps below.

 1- Remove Summary Window From Startup: Go to  Tools > Options menu. Select the Environment > General from left treeview. At the right pane, you will see the At Startup selection. Change the selection from Open Object Explorer to Empty Environment. This will remove the tracking of your object selections while working on databases and closes the Summary window.

2- At the same screen, check the Hide system objects in Object Explorer. This will hide system objects and you can work on relaxed.
